View from Pilatus Mountain
Overlooking lake Lucerne
Pilatus mountain (2128m) is a very popular destination for tourists in Switzerland. The top gives a gorgeous overview of lake Lucerne. The top has a prominence of 585m over the valley. The view down is also quite steep, so thrills are guaranteed.
To get to the top you have to take a cogwheel train. The train rides the steepest cogwheel track in the world with a 48% ascend. And if that is not impressive by itself: The track is over a century old!
